Chief executive officer of British Gas Firm Frank Chapman arrived in Manila last Tuesday, October 24. Chapman accompanied by Energy Secretary  Raphael  Lotilla, British Ambassador Peter Beckingham, Wayne Roberts, BG asset general manager for Asia Pacific, and Marcelo Figueroa, BG country manager for the Philippines disclosed his company’s expansion plans through a closed door courtesy call on President Arroyo last Wednesday morning, October 25 at Malacanang’s music room.

According to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), it is unnecessary for monetary authorities at the moment to intercede in the foreign exchange market because the instability of the Philippine peso is within acceptable levels and still comparable with movements of other currencies in the region.

Tsunami is defined as a natural phenomenon consisting of a series of waves generated when water in a lake or sea is rapidly displaced on a massive scale. Earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions and large meteorite impacts all have potential to generate a tsunami. The effects of a tsunami can range from unnoticeable to devastating. Tsunamis can cause different damages on the earth surface and can even cause death of individuals.

Philippine Airlines launched last October 20 its newest addition to its fleet, an Airbus A319-100, which was the first of the 20 single-aisle passenger jets to be acquired by flag carrier for $840 million for domestic and regional flights.

There's No Such Thing as Free LunchApproximately we have P6 trillion debt on a belt. That is why 85% of our P758 billion profit will just be for our payment. Instead of that money being used on things beneficial to our country, we Filipinos are not benefiting from it because our government has to pay for those debts. Though we don’t really know where it came from, who used it and where it was used. That is why many of us are now experiencing poverty because of the different deficiencies we have on aspects like health, education and labor, peace and political stability.

The Philippines has about $76 billion of debts, and its government has lost so much money in the past decade that its bonds are consistently rated below investment grade. But earlier this summer, as markets around Asia were still struggling to recover from a sell-off by global investors, the Philippines pulled off something seemingly unthinkable for a country known as the region's sick man: it persuaded international investors to lend it $750 million.

LogicCMG said yesterday that plans to expand its outsourcing business could include setting up an operation in the Philippines, noting that skilled labour there is even cheaper than in India.

The company said it will also build on its facilities in India, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, The Telegraph reports. Outsourcing is Logica's fastest growing business, and accounts for around 25 per cent of the group's revenue.
