I will be watching this movie when it shows.  I think I deserve the chance to rate the movie myself according to my taste. lol  The movie critics and the journalists can differ with my assessment of the movie since they are entitled to that as well as I am entitled to mine.  That's why I reserve that right.    They have been wrong a lot of time before too.

Honestly, I think Brown (the author) just wanted to stir the hornet's nest when he said the book was based on historical facts just to create controversy.  Controversy creates curiosity and that derives to money generated by sales.  I don't see what all the hoopla is about the book/movie.  If you look for it in the bookstore, it's under FICTION.  People.. get a hint.

I think you're asking the wrong person to give a review.   I'm somebody who loves to watch those high flying chinese folks gliding from tree top to tree top and think that those type of movies are awesome.   Heck, I watched Shaolin soccer three times just because I was amused.   Cutting to the chase, I'm easily amused. Show me an ant carrying something and my eyes will be glued to that event until the ant goes down the anthill.

But just the same, I will try to post a review here once I've seent eh movie.  I will try to be as objective as I could too. lol

 

Hey guys...

I was able to watch the 'Da Vinci Code' last Sunday and I think you guys should watch it.  It was entertaining and I think the critics were giving the movie an unfair assessment.  I enjoyed it thoroughly.  Of course there are some variance when you try to compare it against the book but those parts that were not in the movie but were in the book were negligible and didn't really affect much of the movie.  Of course one has to have an open mind when watching this movie and should separate fact from fiction.

I can understand why the Philippines is trying to ban this movie.  Just think about it...

- 65% (rough estimate) of Philippine population believed that Erap when elected could wipe out the evils in the country when they elected him to the Presidency
- These same percentage also believed that FPJ would have done the same thing if he wasn't cheated in the polls
- There's a sect that believed Jose Rizal was the son of God
- There's also a sect that believed Ferdinand Marcos was God or at least a prophet
- Even the clergy in the Philippines are not immue to these scenarios and doesn't know when to draw the line on church and state.
- That whenever there's a statue that weeps blood or just plain weeps, a miracle is occuring (or the end of the world is at hand)
- That when there's a phenomenon called the 'dancing sun', these same people thinks its the end of the world.


Based on those facts, I would support a partial ban on this movie being shown in the Philippines.  Only open minded people should be allowed to watch yet another cult may emerge.  And hopefully, this cult wont be led by someone from the church. lol

I've seen the movie last weekend.
I think it's just entertaining, not a must see.
I guess, a lot of people watch it because of the buzz.
