President Arroyo has ordered the Professional Regulation Commission to punish those guilty for the leaking portions of the 2006 Nursing Licensure Examination to examinees, ANC reported Monday.

The President spoke for the first time on the issue after it was uncovered. In her directive to PRC Chairwoman Leonor Tripon-Rosero, Mrs. Arroyo also ordered a reorganization of the Board of Nursing Examiners.

Mrs. Arroyo also announced that she would sign an executive order that would place review centers for the nurses under the regulation of the Commission on Higher Education.

The President, however, stood by Rosero who has ignored calls for her resignation amid the controversy.

Mrs. Arroyo defended Rosero, saying that only the nursing exam was tainted under the current PRC chief's watch.

Some 17,000 out of 42,000 examinees passed the nursing exam given on June 11-12. The controversy arose, however, after some examinees bared that Tests 3 and 5 of the five-part exam were leaked prior to the examination.

This is double standard.  It's okay to cheat on the national elections but those who cheat on the nursing exams should be punished?

It's good to be the president. lol

In the Philippines, justice upholds the Death Penalty.

If the accused is poor, he gets the death penalty.

If the accused is rich, he gets the 'det depends'.

And now Arroyo fired the whole nursing board.  Like that's going to help.
