When we're still young, we all dreamed that we would be a doctor or a lawyer someday. I actually hope to be a doctor, but this dream changed as I grow old and experienced new adventures. When I was in highschool my dreams started to focus in computers. That was the time that computers and the internet was starting to become part of the society.

So studying highschool at don bosco (in Mandaluyong), I chose to be in the computer section. And my mom bought me my first computer which is the clone 80486DX. That time, 486 cost around 50,000 pesos. then in college, you would get a higher grade on papers and design projects if it's printed on a laser printer. So I bought a bublejet printer. The print is as good as a laserjet =D.

After graduation in 1997, I worked with an online media company at Business World (bworldonline.com). I have to gain more experience so I took another job as a C programmer / web developer at Motorola. And that time, Java was becoming popular and hot abroad. So I searched for a company that does Java. After another year, I ended up with Momentum Internet that does e-commerce. My stay there for one year has given me enough experience with Java. And that total of 3 years working experience  made me a marketable as IT professional abroad.

So here I am now, working in the US as an IT professionals. And my hobby is creating websites.

Okay.. I'll take you up on this Ross.

I have always been fascinated with anything electrical growing up but coming from a family of educators, I was destined to become a teacher.  I actually started out taking AB Philosophy Major in Theology but after a year of deliberation, I decided to try out something else.  In 1991, I graduated with a BS on Electronics and Communications Engineering.

My exposure on computers started when I was 17 working as an On-The-Job trainee for a computer company.  I guess you can say that everything just kinda fell in place as the years went by.  Back in 94-95, I got the opportunity to work in one of Singapore's government board as an Analyst/Programmer.  It was also that time that the Y2K issue was in full swing and I was fortunate enough to have been offered to work in the US.

I've been here in the US for 10 years now and I'm still employed as an IT professional.  15 more years in this profession and I'lll be set to retire.  I'm ready to do something that doesn't require me to look at computers other than surf or play. Smiley

I play soccer whenever I get the chance and I collect comic books.  I'm not young anymore but I've always believed that youth is not a time of life but a state of mind. Smiley

when i was in grade school my ambition was to become a lawyer... lawyers fascinated me during my childhood years... everything changed though as years went by especially when my father became very devoted to his religion at that time... as an obedient and respectful son (only son)  Roll Eyes i chosed to be a religious missionary after graduating from high school (year 1987)... unfortunately though, we left that religion, me after almost 10 years in the missionary work... i was turning 26 years old by then... (yes i graduated high school at the age of 15)...  Wink and decided to pursue another career...

i wasn't getting any younger by then so i have to choose a course that's "IN" at that time... ant that's computers... i took a computer course at AMA Bacolod and right after graduation went to manila... worked as a junior (utusan) programmer, then as a programmer in a software house, a programmer again for a certain group of companies where I later worked as network administrator... after years of working in manila i decided to transfer to cebu (my wife is from cebu)... worked as MIS supervisor for more than a year, and right now a freelancer...  Grin

my turn. . . heheh. . . Grin

when i was a grade school, i always wanted to be a priest. . .influence by our teacher, but as time goes by until i graduated grade school that want has vanish. . .when i entered high school, i dream to be an engineer (dont know what type. . heheh) but that time that was when internet go booommm. . ., i was 1 on of the addicts in playing computer games (ei. delta force, war craft, star craft broodwar, etc. . .), have to saved 2 pesos with my 10 pesos baon per day so at weekend i can play those games, so that when i started to know computers. . .

when i graduated high school, i planned to take up Computer Engineering, but the problem is my parents can't support me for pursuing my studies in college. . .so i applied as a working student in USJ-R Cebu, in God's grace i was accepted and can pursue college. I ended taken up BSComputer Science than BSComp Engineering 'coz the department where i was assigned doesn't accept engineering courses at that time, so they said i have to choose another course or wait for another same so i can be assigned to another department if i really wanted to pursue the course BSCompEng, but time is gold so i choose the Computer Science course.

And thank God i finished my studies, after graduation i worked in a bank as a cash sorter for 1 month, then finds a new opportunity as an Inventory Clerk when i was about to resign my head recommended me to transfer to the IT department as an assistant of the IT head, years have passed my mentors and supervisors have resign, now i'm currently the Head of an IT department in one company here cebu. . .

what a long story. . .  Grin

All of us has it's own story.....

before I dream to be a broadcaster someday somewhat like Noli De Castro personality when i was a kid, but most of us like me is influenced by our parents to the course that we took during college and I was forced to take up computer engineering which is in-demand as they say during those time and even now......

2 years on the IT field and I landed in the callcenter industry and I've been here for more than 4 years now. I see the combination of IT and communcaition on this field that's why I stayed.......

Sometimes, we may not get exactly what we want but in the end, we will land to the job  that we will like most - sometimes not exactly what we dreamed of, but  most of it i would say.......
