Roxas Boulevard is one of the most famous road in the Philippines nowadays. It is known as Dewey Boulevard during the American colonial period, its present name honors the Philippines' first elected president, Manuel Roxas.

Before it was developed, the road was just a simple historical sight seeing drive beside Manila Bay but after its redevelopment by the City of Manila, it has transformed into a scenic tourist hangout.

In the morning you can feel the cold breeze and the warm of the sun. Walking by the bay makes you feel relax and lighthearted. And when dusk strikes, you can see the world’s most beautiful sunset. Here you can clearly see the breathtaking red orange burst of color across the horizon. During the evening, you can see striking colorful lights along the road as well as the clear sky. The road also host different bars and restaurants that offer good food and feel good music for everyone. You can have a really good time here with a little money you have. And sometimes you can just walk by the bay, spend nothing at all, listen to the music and go home feeling better.

In this place you can see a variety of people from different walks of life- from the tsinelas group, the tambay-sa-kanto group, the high school-barkadahan group, the ordinary people and as well as the elites. This just proves that anybody, regardless of the class can enjoy the place and have fun.

The road offers the most picturesque drive in Manila because this oceanfront boulevard goes past other beautiful landmarks such as Rizal Park, Cultural Center of the Philippines and Intramuros. You can also see animated scenes of joggers, strollers, bystanders and many others. You can leisurely walk along the road, chill out and take a break. Here you can enjoy the sun, the breeze and the sea.

The redevelopment of Roxas Boulevard didn’t only open Manila for the tourist but also for the locals. The beautification can somewhat boost the confidence of the Manileno’s and other Filipinos for there are still places that they can be proud of. It offers job opportunities to the jobless because of the various establishments that needs workers and it also opened doors for Filipino performers.

Roxas Boulevard is indeed Manila’s most enduring charm. It serves as very fitting backdrop to families and friends to spend their time together. The ambiance is perfect, the atmosphere is very alive. I’m sure everyone who’ll visit this place will surely have a great time enjoying this free, almost-daily grand show for everybody.
