Robinsons Place Manila

One of the countries leading real estate, Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), is gearing up to expand Robinsons Place Manila to include an additional wing called Midtown that is expected to be entirely operational by October 2007. The additional wing will rise within the existing Robinsons Complex grounds along Pedro Gil Street RLC’s high-rise building division’s residential condominium project- The Adriatico Residences, a cluster of three residential towers, will append to this mall expansion. With the completion of Midtown, the approximate total gross floor area of the Ermita mall will be 240,000 square meters.

The Midtown project is expected to fully complement the existing five-level Robinsons Place Manila, a very popular and well-patronized shopping complex in the Manila/Binondo districts. The expansion wing expects to meet up the increasing demand for quality, high-end stores in this area.

The mall will suggest a lifestyle shopping mall, offering a distinct and fresh experience. A bigger Robinsons Department Store, a bigger Robinsons Supermarket and Toy R Us opening next year will be expected from it. The mall will offer a fresco dining in several formats, to attract the eclectic mix of shoppers that frequent the Malate/Ermita areas. A refreshing garden arrangement, rich with landscaped greens and a lagoon is to be found also in this area. The mall will be introducing a new tenant aside from the dining experience composed of well-known brand names, electronics and computer sanctuary, a specialty bookstore, hobbyist centers, lifestyle and home improvement outlets, an amusement store, a wellness center, spas and salons, and other service outlets. Some cinema will also be relocated to be a part of this new wing.

The Robinsons Emita is the very first shopping mall in Ermita/Malate in 1980s. It was a popular hangout for students from the university belt and nearby exclusive schools and colleges, as well as a favorite of tourists and foreigners. The RLC in 1990, redeveloped the property into a mixed-use complex that is included a shopping mall and a residential condominium. Completed in year 2000 is the two-level Padre Faura Wing as an expansion wing which is connected to the twin residential tower, Robinsons Place Residences.
