![]() Ultraelectromagnetic Jam, an album made to glorify the hits of the Eraserheads, the most popular Pinoy rock band in the Philippines during the alternative rock explosion of the early 1990s. This album sold so well because it features remakes of the all-time-favorite feel good songs of the band plus the performers include the hottest bands of the country today. Aspiring to achieve the success of Ultraelectromagnetic Jam, another tribute album was produced entitled, "Kami nAPO muna," - dedicated to the APO hiking society. This group created music that is always hip and very Filipino. The album features songs like Panalangin, Batang-bata ka pa, When I met you, Pumapatak ang ulan and many others. Both tributes contain songs that hit the airwaves and the record outlets of the Philippine’s today. They sold thousand copies few days after their release. It is also feels good to hear the small kids in the streets singing songs older than they are. Once again, the Philippine Music industry is alive! It is really good that we pay tribute to people to the stars of the past. In this manner, we are able to preserve the music of the past for the new generation to hear and appreciate Filipino talents. It also gives opportunities to the new bands show off their versatility with the remakes. Songs like this, jog the memory of the people about the greatness of Filipino musicians. Of all the arts, music is regarded as the most universal in its appeal and acceptance. The music that we make reflects our collective consciousness and total experience. We are people gifted with a strong sense of musicality. WE tend to turn to music to express our innermost thought and feelings. That is why in every song we sing, in every instrument we play and in every music we make, we see a reflection of our hopes, dreams, frustrations, failures and triumphs. We must continue to preserve and promote our country’s talents and be really proud of our race. |
