Pinoy Dream Academy is the hottest reality-based talent search in the country today. After the very successful Pinoy Big Brother, ABS-CBN made another Philippine version of Endemol’s Star Academy. Hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Sam Milby, Nikki Gil and Bianca Gonzales, the show showcases talented young Filipino men and women from different parts of the world.

Twenty scholars will be trained by teachers for four months and activities inside the Academy will be monitored 24/7 by a headmaster. The faculty is composed recently of a headmaster, a dance teacher, a fitness teacher, a voice teacher, a diction teacher, a performance teacher, a media performance teacher, a songwriting teacher, a belly dance teacher and a media ethics teacher. The Academy is found facing the ABS-CBN studios in Quezon City. It is the expanded and modified Big Brother house that includes other special rooms like the administration rooms, dance studio and piano room. There is also an auditorium where performances by the scholars would be held.

Pinoy Dream Academy is shown on ABS-CBN from Mondays to Fridays. Each episode shows what is happening inside the academy, the scholars’ training and progress of each of them with regards to their education in the academy. There is a performance night held every Saturday, where all the scholars will perform to determine who the star scholar (the scholar with the highest grade) of the week is and as well as the probationary scholars (scholars nominated for expulsion).

One scholar will be expelled weekly, depending on the outcome of their performances and the grades given by the invited jurors. There will be 4 probationary scholars every week but only one will be expelled for the week. Probationary scholars can be saved by the viewer’s vote, the faculty’s vote and the co-scholars vote. Winners of this search will also be showered with loads of prizes and a working contract from the network.

Pinoy Dream Academy will surely be another big hit, for we Filipinos are very fond of singing, dancing and performing. This show will again prove that Filipinos are very talented individuals.
