Some web designers, specially those who are just starting, often neglects creating web page designs that targets the screen resolution of the majority. Currently, 55% of the internet users use 1024 x 768 resolution. But, 25% of them are still on 800 x 600 resolution. So, this make good sense to make web page designs for 800 x 600 monitor resolution.The browser grid is a useful guide in designing your web templates. For designing templates for 800 x 600 screen resolution, 760 is actually the safer width to avoid unwanted horizontal scroll bars. Using the browser grid, it will guide you on what should be the actual resolution for a particular screen resolution. Here are the safest width for specific target resoulutions:
