Instructional Design Developer

The Instructional Design Developer is responsible for creating all types of learning materials using various learning modes necessary to support the training needs of teams within the WPS group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate with subject matter experts to obtain necessary information for developing training programs and learning materials
• Recommend appropriate learning solutions in all delivery formats (face-to-face, e-learning, print)
• Create effective training programs and materials for corporate training environments and/or e-learning delivery formats (including training plans, facilitator guides, instructional media elements, storyboards, e-learning content, visual aids, presentation materials, job aids)
• Gather feedback through assessment measures and evaluation forms
• Responsible for designing visually appealing, appropriate graphics, animation, videos, or interactive activities needed for multimedia software and websites, training documents and manuals.
• Design multimedia presentations, e-learning design templates and interfaces
• Create interactive software widgets (buttons, icons, and other UI elements)
• Collaborate with writers and Instructional designers to create appropriate visuals for e-learning programs

TECHNICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of Multimedia Arts / Instructional Systems Design / Digital and Interactive Media Plus factors: e-learning experience, multimedia projects, layout of training manuals, interactive Flash games

Solid understanding of:

• Multimedia elements and design principles
• Designing multimedia and web interfaces
• Designing interactive widgets
• Multimedia capture and editing tools
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
• 1-3 years of experience with digital media, photo-editing, audio-editing, video editing, animation tools (e.g. Adobe Suite)
• Familiar with learning management systems or e-learning technologies (e.g Skillsoft, Blackboard, Moodle, Captivate, Flash)
• Adult learning theory and instructional design principles in managing the development of training programs, facilitator guides, presentation materials, e-learning content, and instructional media elements.
• In-depth understanding of learning styles, training strategies, instructional systems design methodologies, digital content authoring, and e-learning modes of delivery (i.e. computer based learning, web-based learning, mobile learning)
• Knowledge of course authoring tools and blended learning / e-learning best practices

• Teaching experience, e-learning experience, course authoring, educational research, project management
• Experience with Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere
• Basics of Photography
• Video editing
