Study, Work & Migrate to New Zealand

The STUDY, WORK & MIGRATE TO NEW ZEALAND (SWMNZ) is a program jointly offered by EDENZ Colleges of New Zealand and The Commonwealth Institute (TCI), one of EDENZ’s student placement representatives in the Philippines .

The SWMNZ offers 3 fast-track pathways to NZ permanent residency for Filipino Registered Nurses, Teachers and other Professionals. These pathways can be completed in as little as 8 months to one year of study (while working part-time!)

For RN’s,  EDENZ offers a 6-month  test preparation course in Occupational English (English used in clinical nursing practice) and subsequently, assistance in enrolling in the Competence Assessment Program (CAP) that leads directly to registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. This whole process can take as little as 8 months, depending on intake or enrollment dates.

For teachers with LET qualifications, only an IELTS 6.5 is required at inception.  EDENZ offers a 12-month Diploma in Communication course with TESOL/TECSOL certification. After graduation, the candidate is required to retake the IELTS and achieve a 7.0 in all 4 sub-tests; and thereafter, register with the Teachers Council of New Zealand as a TESOL/TECSOL certified teacher.

The third pathway is open to Filipino college graduates, regardless of degree earned. It involves enrollment into a business course at EDENZ. All that is needed is an IELTS 5.5 for level 5 diplomas and IELTS 6.0 for level 6 completion. A typical business course takes about a year.

All three pathways entitle the candidate to work part-time while studying (up to 20 hours a week) and full-time after graduation for up to a year under a NZ open work visa. During the time of full-time employment, the candidate can earn points towards eligibility for permanent residency status.
