I.          GENERAL We have prepared this Qualification Statement to provide you an overview of our experience and qualifications for your prestigious project.  It has been prepared to illustrate our firm's distinctions from others and to provide a solid profile on our organization, philosophies, expertise and includes items which are frequently overlooked in the evaluation process.  This information will be of particular benefit as not only will it function to qualify our firm, it will be a useful tool for your committee in comparing firms and developing criteria for selecting firms that will best meet your needs. To keep this SOQ brief, we have listed here only bit of everything about our firm’s history, capacity, work experience and projects. For a detailed CV, please visit our website at: http://gozar.biz   II.         EXPERIENCE       A.  DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURAL PROJECTS               More than 30 years of design and architectural projects experience as a firm, and almost 35 years as a practicing professional for the principal architect alone. Has been commissioned several projects in the past with various complexities, design briefs and specification.             Currently doing several commercial and high-rise residential projects in the Philippines. In 1996 completed the largest Duty Free complex in the Philippines. Has been consulted by the City of Manila government for the redevelopment of the 4 Kilometer stretch of the famous “Baywalk”, in Roxas (“sunset”) Blvd (formerly Dewey Blvd.) in a major tourist area and for the re-development of the former Army Navy Club (cultural heritage site) to a multi-cultural site and commercial complex. Recently completed Phases 1 & 2 of a 5-tower luxury residential project in Roxas Boulevard at the reclamation area, The PSBank Tower (now Axxa Life Tower), the renovation of Global Bank Bldg. (now PSBank Bldg.) all for the Metrobank Group. Firm is currently executing architectural and engineering services for the Limketkai Shopping Center in Cagayan de Oro City, Mindanao, Philippines – a 6 hectare development consisting of a large multi-function Atrium, department stores, retail establishments, entertainment, cinema center and food & beverage outlets. A.      ORGANIZATION

 Founded in Hong Kong in 1986 as a limited company providing design consultancy to other architectural and interior design firms in HK that eventually branched out to the Philippines in 1993 as a full practice - planning, architectural and interior design. Incorporated in the Philippines with 5 directors, is duly registered with the Philippine’s Security and Exchange commission with proper capitalization and has been in business in the Philippines since 1993. Firm has executed various projects with diverse design briefs and specifications in Hong Kong, China and the Philippines. While in HK, served the developer firm of Hong Kong Resort for the Discovery Bay project - a large community with commercial, cultural and leisure development. In China, has been commissioned to design several hotel & housing projects. While in the Philippines, various projects ranging from high-rise buildings to commercial to shopping malls to large master planning projects. Principal Architect, Managing director and President of the firm is a Philippine Registered architect - Enrique P. Gozar, PIA, UAP, HKIDA with PRC registration no. 4283 issued in the Philippines in 1974. ·         Principal is a Filipino by birth, speaks fluent Filipino, English and some Cantonese & Spanish and has extensively traveled to China, most of Southeast Asia, and the east and west coasts of the United States. ·         He is well traveled in all 3 major islands in the Philippines, and has worked in more than 30 cities on those islands doing various projects for client banks, developers, and residential owners. ·         An artist by avocation, he is a graphics designer, web-page designer, web master, and photographer - a member of the elite Camera Club of the Philippines (founded 1928).  ·         Guarantees direct principal involvement with your project. Inc.’s designers & technical staff is required to have an academic background or degrees in either Architecture or Architectural Engineering or in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering and/or Interior Design.  All are proficient in computers and many drawing and common office software common in the industry. Our registered architects have Bachelor of Science degrees in Architecture who are "creative" designers but are also very effective in preparing drawings for instructional construction. This requirement assures the project of not only innovative designs but a sound understanding of building systems, construction assemblies, construction detailing, which is key in the preparation of drawings that respond to the methods familiar to contractors, avoids delays and diminishes the need for change orders. Firm's Specialty Staff: Arch. Alvic Samson is the firm's executive / project architect and interior designer and assumes responsibilities for architectural and interior finishes; color, paint, product, selection, as well as interior furnishings.  Artist Emil Davocol, an off-board photographer, and graphic designer is our principal graphics artist, print, media, and audio-video design consultant. A member of the Camera Club of the Philippines, he is a multi-awarded master photographer of the club. 

B.      FIRM SIZE:

   Gozar Planners Phils. Inc. is a special small sized firm maintaining an in-house staff of 8 architects, 2 engineers, 1 interior designer 3 clerical staff, and a group of off-board support personnel, corresponding on-line via the internet and by dial-up links, for drawings production, study model making, data gathering and audio – video presentation work. • Small firms have the benefit of having the architect as principal being intimately involved with every aspect of the project.  But, even as a small firm, our off-board retained consultants and support personnel provide the necessary technical level of staff to meet the demands and schedules for larger projects.            • Large firms typically can offer greater levels of technical staff and usually meet schedules.  However, to exist they must have several large projects in contract at a given time.  There is limited principal involvement, the firm is dependent upon the capabilities (and availability) of its "project architects" and the success of the project is directly related to that individual’s performance.             • Thus, with our set-up, a small but efficient firm, who is able to expand when required by the project, will be able to deliver. This set-up is currently becoming the trend with many performing technical firms with the aid of automation and the use of computers, wireless communication and the Internet.  IV.  PERFORMANCE            For the past ten years, Gozar Planners Phils. Inc. has consistently delivered completed projects within budgets and schedules set by the clients or project managers. An example, the recent PS Bank Tower project (1997) in Makati was completed 2 months short of schedule, and below budget to the delight of our clients, Metrobank .             Most of our clients are repeat clients. The Metrobank Group alone has provided us with a stream of design projects since 1990 up to the present ranging from high rise buildings to large master planning projects like the Bay Gardens Development – a multi-development project consisting of parks, residential towers, cultural, commercial and entertainment all set in a garden setting.
